The Hawaiian Chaplaincy & Flourishing Research

A 24-month, six-cohort study of workplace spiritual care and human flourishing across every sector in the State of Hawaiʻi — grounded in Aloha, guided by science, protected by an IRB-ready ethics protocol.

Vision

A flourishing Hawaiʻi where every workplace is a place of dignity, meaning, and Aloha.

We envision a State where employees across healthcare, hospitality, education, faith, government, trades, and agriculture are seen, cared for, and spiritually resourced — and where every employer has access to evidence-based, culturally rooted chaplaincy and flourishing practices.

Mission

Measure, illuminate, and strengthen workplace flourishing across all of Hawaiʻi.

Through a 24-month, IRB-reviewed research program we will survey 2,200+ employees and 200+ employers, publish sector-level Flourishing Snapshots, train chaplaincy leaders, and deliver an open statewide dashboard — free to every organization that participates.
